Battlefield 6 Players Agree: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult

The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 was met with widespread acclaim, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, regardless of its fanfare, many players are protesting against some of the game's toughest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.

Users have commenced turning to personalized games made via the custom game tool to complete them, emphasizing just how grueling these challenges have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Objectives

Missions serve as Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, as opposed to the periodically changed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four types of assignments, but where most merely grant outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of acquiring twelve from the forty-one main guns present in the game.

A number of these gated guns could shortly earn a place on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry on Reddit

Within Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This task is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a statement that captures just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer positive effects in fights as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which is seldom the location you want to be. The commenter also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that task would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Overly Demanding Task

A different forum member highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, within the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with marksman guns

This is difficult enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at that kind of range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine maps in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and possibly a classic map if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.

The Alternative Method

Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.

Yet, if completing the missions in a normal session feels like anti-playing, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for completing them in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Potential Changes

It won't come as a surprise if a number of these missions are made easier in the next few updates, because if they're not, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.

Currently, the player base continues to express their views on these strenuous in-game tasks, hoping for a fairer player experience in future updates.
